The last chapters of What Used to be Arkansas are in the editor’s hands! Just a few more weeks and it will hit the shelves. I can’t wait!
I thought you might like a peek at the cover and find out a little bit more about this second book in the What Used To Be series.
Happy to finally be with a community, the last thing Molly is going to do is mess up any chance of staying here. She must keep quiet about her abilities, even if they were forced on her, or risk being thrown out of Anson.
In the past six years, Axel led his band of orphans to safety, and with the help of his friend, Wolf, taught themselves how to survive—until the day a shark-like monster takes over their river, threatening them and their food source. Are they strong enough to destroy it? Or will they lose their home forever?
Molly and Axel leave their safe homes and explore more of this new world then they have in the past six years. What they find is more dangerous than they ever imagined. Friends who may be foes, Clan Kings who rule with an iron fist, and more monsters than they believed possible.
(I’m not doing an ARC for this book. It is going to be a quick release as soon as it’s released from Kindle Vella. So there was no time.)
If you haven’t read Book 1 What Used to be Texas yet, now is the time!

Every day is a battle to survive.
It’s been five years since The Fall. During that time, sixteen-year-old Molly has watched those she cared for die, and her supplies dwindle. Now, she has no choice but to venture to the occupied military base her grandfather forbid her to enter.
He warned dreadful things happened there.
He was absolutely right.
Human experiments. Mutated monsters. Covered up murders. It’s worse than Molly could have possibly imagined. Yet among those she meets—a grieving mother, a band of orphans, and an ex-cop—she finds one thing she never anticipated . . . hope.
Partnering with her new allies, can Molly and her team work together to stay alive? Or will they pay for the dark secrets they carry with their lives?

What I’m Reading . . .
The Last Tribe by Brad Manuel. I’m finishing up this book. It is a book set so it is taking a little longer. In case you didn’t see the last newsletter, I went ahead and repeated the information about it again.
The Last Tribe is a highly rated book and most of the reviewers seemed surprised they liked it so much considering it was low on the violence.
The last book I read ended up high on my violence score (which is admittedly not that high), so I was eager to read this book and see how they managed an interesting post-apoc book with little violence.
I have to say, they are managing it very well.
I’m not even to the end of the first book, but I really like the book so far and highly recommend it. And, according to the Amazon reviews, so did many people who expect and like more violence in their books.
See what you think! You can buy the ebook collection for $4.99 or read through Kindle Unlimited. It is also in audiobook.
