Today, I wanted to share a little update on how writing is going.
As of now, I’ve finished the two What Used to be short stories. The first one is When Tomorrow Comes, which is included in the Fractured World Anthology that is now on preorder and will be released in September
The second story story is Beyond The Walls. It focuses
on Wolf and a run for medication that turns into something monstrous! It will be included in Through The Aftermath, an anthology being released by postapocalypticmedia.com.
In addition to that, I’ve continued to write book 2 in the What Used To Be series, entitled What Used to be Arkansas. I am at 40,000 words. I planned on a 55,000 word book so I’m looking at how to wrap this up with a nice little bow. I have a lot of story to share so I won’t be surprised if it is a little longer though I’m still anticipating an autumn release.
And I am starting to write down some ideas for book 3, which will be entitled What Used to be Louisiana. This novel will answer some lingering questions, it will bring back the Berns family (and add some extended family) and Hunter McConnell from When Tomorrow Comes, as well as bring back some of our old favorites from the Texas and Arkansas books.
Louisiana will also include more about the Clan Kings, and something that has been brewing with Anjulie for a long time. So lots of action—but some romance too for those who like that. (I always like a bit of romance.) I can’t wait to start it!

Grateful For . . .
In keeping with my hopeful post-apocalyptic/dystopian stories, I thought I’d share something I’m grateful for.
I’m having a small surgery next week, and I’m grateful for my loving family who allow me to vent about my concerns and anything else I need to say about the surgery. Medical things cause me anxiety.

What I’m Reading…
Caldwell’s Homestead: Havoc in Wyoming Part 1 by Millie Cooper.
This book came out in 2019, but just recently came to my attention. Millie Copper is one of the nineteen other authors that are in the Fractured World anthology with me, and I’m getting familiar with all of them.
If you like the homesteading aspect of post-apocalyptic, this is truly the book for you. It starts off with a father and son at their home in Wyoming with the wife trying to make her way home from Oregon. It goes into everything they gather to help them survive.
In addition to that, I’m starting read of neighbors, one in particular, causing some trouble, and I won’t be surprised to see that storyline grow. From the titles of the other books, things seem like they get quite tense. And that is always a good read.
I like this story and more so because is has no profanity, gratuitous sex, or overly detailed gruesome deaths.
