Simone continued her drive to Jackson’s school, trying to ignore the unease fluttering through her. She refused to be worried about something before she needed to be.
The only way to get through any problem was to take it one step at a time.
The first step was to pick up the kids.
At least when it happened Micheal would be with them. How many times had she handled bad weather and any number of other things alone because her husband was a cop?
She didn’t resent it. In fact, she was proud her husband was the kind of man who wanted to help other people. But there had been times, several in fact, when she saw other husbands beside their wives, helping and supporting them. It would be nice to have that today.
Of course, it made her wonder. He wasn’t just grounded, waiting this event out in a safe spot as he usually did. The mayor had actually sent everyone home to their families.
How bad would this be?
