Recently, I was reading about some other things that writers did for their newsletters and social followers. I came across one that I feel I have time to do and people will enjoy.
As many of you know TikTok is the thing now. lol. It’s always something, isn’t it? But this social media is a standout when it comes to readers and writers.
The idea the writer suggested was to tell a story on TikTok, a little at a time. I’ve decided to do that.
Albert, the scientist, featured in the first book of What Used to be series, but wasn’t heard of much in book 2. (Don’t worry. He is up to his sneaky badness. lol) However, I thought it might be interesting to tell a short story from his point of view. So we get to know more about him. And everyone loves to bad guys point of view.
This is the story I plan to tell on TikTok. If you would like to follow along, you can find me on TikTok at @mairadawnauthor.
For writers out there—if you haven’t tried TikTok, you may want to. The social media has attracted a lot of writers, who have built substantial #booktok audiences. Romance, fantasy, and young adult seem to do very well, though I’ve also heard of other genres that have also found it worth their while to be on the social network.
TikTok had paid attention and has been adding features that are great for both readers and writers.
Readers can also find a ton of book recommendations by using #booktok and #indieauthor.

What We Are Reading . . .
We had a couple of reading suggestions in the comments of the last newsletter. They both sound good! So you may want to check them out. I’ll put the links to the books below.
Viet recommended Mercy Rising The Return by DC Little.
The epic saga of Mercy Rising continues with The Return where the Great Event from Grant Us Mercy comes full circle, revealing what the government has been up to these last twenty years.
It is in Kindle Unlimited or $3.99 to buy. Click the button below to check it out.
Mark recommend the entire ten-book series of 299 Days by Glen Tate.
299 Days: The Preparation, the first book in the 299 Days series, depicts the inner struggles Grant must face as he exists in a social system he recognizes as unsustainable and on the verge of collapse, but one in which he has built his life around. What begins as a return to his roots, self-sufficiency and independence, becomes a full blown move to prepare for what may come.
It is $9.95. You can check it out by clicking the button below.
