June's Writing Update and Answer to Survey

Answers to the Survey

Last newsletter our survey was about planting gardens. I asked if you had planted anything this year. The answers were:

Flowers 29%
Vegetables 36%
Both 36%

I must say that my vegetables have really taken off. I hope to be able to serve some with dinner soon.

However, my daughter found a hydrangea Lowe’s that I wanted to share. I’ve never seen one like it. It stays rather short but will spread out a bit. The leaves are very shiny, almost like plastic. And the petals are actually glittery.

Writing

I have been writing a story about Tom and Hunter (I don’t want to say who they are as that is a spoiler for those who haven’t read What used to be Arkansas yet.) I thought their story would go in What Used to be Louisiana, but I don’t think it really fits, and I can’t have everything in the book. lol So I’ve decided to make it short story. Yes, another one.

If you haven’t been counting, this will be the third short story. Life gives me less time to write now, and short stories make me feel like I’m getting a lot done.

This story will go from the disappearance of Tom to the beginning of What Used to be Louisiana.

Since this is a short story, I will not be putting it on Vella. So I can share it with everyone, paid or not paid. I’ll start that soon!
